Longitudinal Study on Depression Level of Mothers with Infants and Preschool Children - Focusing on Latent Class According to Trajectories of the Change
Kim Pyo-Min

Abstract
This study carried out to derive latent class depending on trajectories of change in depression of mother who has infants and preschool children and also to verify variables which predict each latent class significantly. The subjects were 2,100 mothers with infants (age 0¢¦3), who joined the 1st~4th year survey by Korea Infant Panel, which result is as follows.
The results are as follows. First, there were four latent classes in total derived from Latent Growth Mixed Model. They were named as ¡®increased type¡¯ (c1, 32.1%) group, ¡®stable type¡¯ (c2, 51.2%) group, ¡®decrease type¡¯ (c3, 14.4%) group, ¡®rapid decrease type¡¯ (c4, 2.3%) group, depending on the characteristics of each group.
Second, nurturing stress, marriage satisfaction, depression level before delivery, selfesteem, among mother¡¯s internal variables, and father¡¯s participation in nurturing children, non-normative life event, social support among mother¡¯s external variables, predicted latent class significantly. Mother¡¯s age among control variable predicted latent class significantly. Based on these results, the social welfare implications were suggested.
